Helloooooooo San Antonio!

We're outta here! The bags are packed, the car is being loaded down with all the ridiculous amounts of stuff you need when traveling with a baby and I am getting ready to shut down the computer to enjoy (suffer through?) my scrap-and-internet-free weekend. It's okay, the good Mexcian food will distract me! Mmmmm!

I'll see ya'll on Monday!

Love,
Tay

Scrap Therapy

I admit it. This page was a little bit of constructive venting. Can you blame me?!! The picture says it all! I didn't know colic could set in at ten months....LOL!

I love the coloring on the picture so I did the entire layout to match. Just one of many you're going to have to see from our family shoot!

We are leaving town tomorrow night and driving to San Antonio while Aiden sleeps in the car. I actually like traveling that way because we get several hours of quiet to talk to each other about everything going on that we would otherwise forget to mention. I'm really excited about San Antonio. I get to see Brian's sister Laura, who we missed at Christmas, and her four adorable kiddos. I can't wait to see them and have Aiden play with his cousins! He's never met any of them except Amy, who is a month older. Can't forget the camera this weekend..... Oh! And you KNOW I am excited about the shopping! We're hitting San Marcos and La Cantera and for once, I'm shopping for ME! Alright, so you know Aiden will end up with a few things too but no one is as limited in their wardrobe choices as I am. Can't wait to hit the shops!

Kelsey Delivers

What do you get when you tell a photographper you want something new and edgy, something trendy with lots of texture, a little bit of grunge but not too much grit and the hottest finishing colors that even fashion advertising professionals have just barely begun to use? You get a CD full of AMAZING shots that takes you an entire day to go through and makes picking a favorite IMPOSSIBLE!

THIS is cool photography! And these shots are nowhere close to half of them. Now I have some new pictures to scrap with! Thanks Kelsey!

Family Pics

Here is one of my favorite shots from our weekend family photo shoot with Kelsey. It was cold, crisp & beautifully clear and I think this picture captured every bit of it!

This was our second outfit change. I wanted some bright, casual & candid family pictures for the house. Something that really captures "us" and I think Kels did it. I love the ones I have seen and I haven't even been through the whole disk yet!! You can bet there will be more to come but some I am saving to use in layouts so you might have to wait a while to see them!

Being the die-hard fan of Miss Mint's Paint Box that I am, I have to say I am totally embarrassed that I did not pick up her painted frames until last week. What was I thinking?!! I LOVE them! They have been showing up in everything I am scrapping. (The photo above uses one of the double color frames)

I haven't been my cheerful, talkative, scrapping self lately. I can't believe how much having a sick child can take out of you! I'm exhausted, distracted, run-down and always on the verge of a headache simply because I can't keep Aiden comfortable (and quiet) for any extended period of time. And it's been like this for two solid weeks. He saw the doctor yesterday and he has a big, fat sinus infection from back-to-back colds. (Luckily it hasn't gotten to his ears. We're on a hefty round of antibiotics to make sure it all clears.) Nevertheless, antibiotics can't work overnight and he was up at 4:30 belting his loudest, "emergency" scream because he was famished and wanted a bottle. After a short stand-off with me not wanting to begin early morning feedings again, I got up and fixed him a bottle when Brian's growls from under the covers began to sound more menacing than Aiden's furious wails. I can't fight two boys. I'm out-numbered. Let's hope this terrible cold passes before we leave for San Antonio on Thursday night because I have almost forgotten what my adorable, laughing little boy is like. I haven't seen him for quite a while.

The Good Stuff

I think this is the longest I have ever gone without posting on my blog! I have been finishing up the last of the hybrid projects and enjoying a (nearly) computer-free weekend.

So here is what I have been up to: (click the pictures to go to the gallery for credits & product links)

These use the Altoid lid shape from the new custom candy template set. Instead of just customizing the candy, I decided to turn the empty tins I had into a photo frame of sorts. I think they turned out to be pretty cute!

Next I scrapped a new face for the Altoid tin I store extra paper gift tags in. This is cute enough to leave sitting out now!

These two IOU's use the new coupon book templates. I haven't made an entrie book yet but I thought night-out passes would be fun! I already have these up on the fridge. We can use tally marks on the back to keep track of who owes who but I already know the answer. I'll owe Brian a LOT more!

There are actually several other examples I have but they're not in the gallery yet. I'll get to them soon. For now I am having fun sorting through all of the GORGEOUS family pictures Kelsey took of us this weekend. I have big plans for some of those shots!

New kits *should* be out sometime in early February. There will also be some new elements to scrap with! (So don't worry if you're not in to hybrid projects. There will be more coming!)

Oh, and Aiden is STILL SICK. We're seeing the doctor this week. I'm afraid he may have gotten an ear infection. (It's the only reason I can find for why my sweet boy has turned into a total screaming monster. And I mean MONSTER. Brian and I haven't even known what to do with his hissy fits this weekend. ) Yesterday at church he was by far the most active and cranky of any of the babies around us. After emptying the contents of the diaper bag and my purse, he fussed for two hours, drank 12 ounces of formula and then fell asleep in his car seat during the last half hour when Brian didn't know what else to do for him. I enjoyed the lessons on Sunday but it is so hard for me - a schedule person who fights tooth-and-nail to make sure Aiden gets enough sleep - to see my baby suffer through church. By the time sunday school is all over, he's missed his major morning nap and is pretty cranky the rest of the day. I feel so bad for him. I wish he would learn to cuddle and fall asleep in our arms like he used to!
